Join Shanzell Page for a Tap Dance Day Celebration honoring the legacy of tap on Bill “Bojangles” Robinson’s birthday through musical conversation, and fellowship.
In celebration of National Tap Dance Day, UMS/UM-Flint Artist in Residence Shanzell Page invites dancers, musicians, students, and community members to gather for an evening honoring the legacy of tap.
This celebration creates space for participants of different experience levels to share in the rich tradition together through an open and welcoming gathering.
The evening will include a workshop, and space for participants to share the floor to uplift the continued joy of our tradition.
Presented as part of the 2025–2026 University Musical Society / University of Michigan-Flint Artist Residency.
